The AD Ports Brazil deal marks a significant strategic pivot for the Abu Dhabi-based ports operator as it enters Latin America for the first time, according to AD Ports Group.

The deal was announced: AD Ports Group agreed to acquire São Paulo-based Corredor Logística e Infraestrutura (CLI) from Macquarie Asset Management and IG4 Capital for AED 3.1bn ($835m). The acquisition had an enterprise value of AED 3.1bn ($835m), representing the largest transaction in AD Ports Group’s history and its first entry into the Latin American market.

CLI is a São Paulo-based agri-bulk terminal operator that runs CLI Sul at Santos and CLI Norte at Itaqui, and the sellers are Macquarie Asset Management and IG4 Capital. The two terminals position AD Ports Group at the heart of Brazil’s agricultural export infrastructure, with Santos and Itaqui among the country’s most strategically important port gateways for bulk commodity shipments destined for global markets.

The move extends AD Ports Group’s international footprint beyond its established presence across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, signalling a broader ambition to build a globally diversified ports and logistics platform. Brazil’s role as one of the world’s leading exporters of soybeans, sugar, and other agri-bulk commodities makes CLI a particularly compelling asset for an operator seeking exposure to high-volume trade corridors.

Further details on financing structure and integration plans are expected to emerge as the transaction progresses toward completion. The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory and antitrust approvals, with both parties working toward satisfaction of closing conditions within the anticipated timeframe.

Investors and logistics executives tracking port infrastructure investment across South America can refer to AD Ports Group’s announced acquisition, which is expected to close in the second half of 2025 subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals.
